INVASION OF THE MINNESOTA
NORMALS, set in 1953 Chicago, presents Ruth McKinley, a completely
ordinary housewife and her encounter with Robert and Mary Jones,
two uninvited guests who just happen to be former test subjects
for a test inspired by the Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory
(MMPI). Confronted with what the corporate world considers ‘normal’,
Ruth examines her life and discovers it is anything but ordinary.
Based on "The Believer" article of the same name, "Invasion of the Minnesota Normals" explores
how a simple personality test meant to diagnose the mentally
ill is now used as a formula for perfect corporate hiring.
"...intense
hilarity, weirdness
and bite..."
-- Way Off Loop
"Tremendous evening of literate theatre."
